LOUISE LYNGH BJERREGAARD

An alumnus of Central Saint Martins and the Scandinavian Academy of fashion design, Louise Lyngh Bjerregaard uses her textile expertise to create award-winning collections in art-forward fashion. Using deadstock and practicing a zero-waste policy at the label’s atelier in Copenhagen, Bjerregaard marries handcrafted technical sensibility with constructional twists in nuanced womenswear staples. Outré color pairings are applied to unusual textures and mix-and-match yarn combinations for an uncompromising approach to cropped tank tops, asymmetric sweaters, and semi-sheer tank dresses. In similar color palettes, subtle floral patterns embellish muted shirts with exaggerated raised seams. With an off-kilter attitude and a hand-crafted approach, Louise Lyngh Bjerregaard redefines the boundaries of women’s ready-to-wear through couture compositions.

  • DESIGNER

    LOUISE LYNGH BJERREGAARD

Founded on a desire for textiles and meticulous attention to detail, LOUISE LYNGH BJERREGAARD is a young emerging brand based in Paris, that holds a strong focus on technical sensibility while uniting art, fashion, and subversion. The brand works across seasons blurring the boundaries between ready-to-wear and couture and has been recognized for expanding the definition of knitwear while the appreciation of material and artisanal techniques remains the core of the atelier.

Being a close alumni of both Eckhaus Latta and Anne Sofie Madsen, interdisciplinary work with fashion and art is no stranger to the eponymous brand and after graduating in 2017, the private work of Louise Lyngh Bjerregaard has been featured at institutions such as Maison du Danemark (Paris, FR), National Gallery of Denmark (DK) and Overgaden Institute for Contemporary Art (DK).  Since 2020 Louise has been a part of the programme “The Young Artistic Elite” established by the Danish Art Foundation.

LOUISE LYNGH BJERREGAARD has since the beginning implemented surplus materials, craftsmanship and longevity as a part of their sustainable practices within their exploration of textiles. For AW21 the atelier was nominated as a finalist at the 2021 Zalando Sustainability Award.
