Nicole van Vuuren is just a girl exploring fashion through mundane interactions between body and cloth, skin and fabric, entity and boundary; establishing a relationship via the space in between. Creating an aesthetic which favours the imperfect, unfinished, broken or unloved.
Each piece is unique and made exclusively by hand in her Tamaki Makaurau studio.
Through relationships with other New Zealand Designers, and the Auckland City Mission offcuts and scrap fabrics are collected from the community and carefully curated into new garments, minimising textile waste ending up in landfill.
